Under 11's. Division 5. Home v Hale United

Result - Reddish North End 7 Hale United 0
We played Hale United at home again this week, a case of clearing up the remainder of this seasons fixtures due to all the postponed games.
Our first double of the season and exactly the same score. We again dominated the match to be fair, hence the scoreline. Credit to Hale United though, they had a few breaks and one or two chances.
Our regular keeper Aaron was out today so we put Matt in goal, the defence were asked to protect him and that's exactly what they did, he had nothing to do all the first half.
We played some nice passing football again and used the wings very well. We won virtually every 50/50 ball, throw ins were cleanly taken and quality crosses were put into the danger area.
We had one casualty today, Callum our right back was involved in a tackle on the edge of the box, nothing malicious in the tackle but he fell awkwardly on his left side and looked to injure his shoulder. Hope you are ok fit again soon Callum.
Now to the goals.
1: Connor.
A sweet cross from Nathan on the right. He turns the defender, takes it to the
bye line and crosses right across the goal mouth for Connor to head it in.
2: Nathan.
In the penalty area, a shot with the outside of the boot and curls round the
keeper.
2 - 0 Half time
Second Half, we changed things around a little, Nathan on the left and Connor
right. Declan wanted to have a go in goal and we used all the subs to make sure
everyone got a game.
Goals in this half.
3: Nathan.
Now playing on the left he runs at the left side defenders, carries on passed
with only the keeper to beat and slots it the corner.
4: Josh.
On as a sub for about 5 minutes finds himself right in the penalty area. A cross
comes in from Louis W, Nathan turns it goalward but the keeper saves and knocks
into Josh's path who hits it first time and a great goal.
5: Brandon.
He goes on one of his runs from just outside the box, all the way and slots
home, another great finish.
6: Isaac.
Another goal from a defender (what's going on!) He picks the ball up on the
right side of the box, has some space and shouts to have a crack, he did and
scores a goal. Well done Issac.
7: Lewis M.
On as sub, makes himself busy and tackling well. Picks up on a pass from Patrick
and hits it home. Another belter of a goal.
We may have had 8 today but Patrick's goal was a mile offside and spotted by the referee. Good finish though!
Another excellent all round display and a
pleasure to watch.
Man of the match
went to Nathan for an outstanding first half leaving their defenders baffled
with what to do with him and played the left side second half when asked to do
so and scores from there aswell.
We were given a much valued comment from
Hales United's coach today. He said apart from only one other team in our
division, we are the best team they have played. Its nice hear things like that
from our opposition, it shows we have progressed this season. I must admit, when
we are on form we do look unbeatable, the games we have lost against the
divisions top 3 teams have all been very close with a goal separating us.
Well done lads.
