Under 11's. Division 5. Home v Woodley Albion

Result - Reddish North End 3 Woodley Albion 1

Another good game and a good win today.
From the kick off we seemed to be back to our usual ways of taking 15 minutes to get going. Woodley outplayed us for this period with good passing and movement and, some good created chances on goal.

Woodley scored within 10 minutes, a through ball from midfield hit up to their striker, it was a long way offside and despite shouts for offside the Ref played it on and to be fair to Woodley the played to the whistle.

We came back into it after the goal, passing was better and we were fighting for the ball more. Our defenders did well and not much got passed them. Matt had a great game, in fact his best for the club by a million miles, great timed tackles when Woodley made a break and he cleaned up nicely at the back.

Some good football in midfield saw a pass to Nathan running from the right into the box, the defender couldn't hold him for pace and he hit home,
1 - 1.

Woodley were a little shocked at the way we came back and it was business as usual from here on in. Five minutes later a cross from the right side went all the way across the penalty area, few miss kicks and the lose ball fell into Connor's path about 5 yards out, has a crack and its in, 2 - 1.

We were putting in plenty of pressure by this point and camped in their half, a few corners were won and more goal scoring opportunities came our way. Some nice passing from Brandon to Nathan then to Jake, he passed back to Brandon who stayed on the right of the penalty box, Brandon has a shot and it was hit with power to go over the keeper and in the net, quality strike. 3 - 1.

Second Half, we changed things around a little, Nathan came off with a dead leg and replaced by Declan who did a great job on the right of midfield, he also had one or good efforts on goal.
It was fairly scrappy this half with Woodley trying to get through us, they had a couple of chances which Aaron made easy saves.

We looked like we were starting to drop off the pace in the later stages of this half and needed some energy to pick up the pace again.
Ian & Alan pushed the lads to pick it up again and we saw more and more chances coming our way. Kyle had a pot full of chances, three times he was through on goal but fluffed them wide - but in good spirit we all had a giggle at the quality of the misses!

We really thought we would score more goals this half and to be honest we had the opportunity to do so.
Although we practically dominated the game the score finished with the goals from the first half, but it was a decent performance and we are now on a 3 match unbeaten run.

No doubt about the Man of the match today, Matty. Super performance.

Keep it up lads. Well done.
