Under 16's. Home v New York Rovers

Result - Reddish North End 4 New York Rovers 1

Blast Off! Reddish North End U16s season finally ‘took off’ at North Reddish Park.
Our first home game for 2 months was one to savour and remember.

A new belief and sense of defiance was there for all to see. The boys started at pace and maintained it for 80 minutes.
An evenly contested first half finished 0-0.

The score line was a testament to a resolute defence. Rob Fowell, Mike Watling and Jordy Hopkins were sure footed and strong.
The unit was galvanised by a magnificent centre back display from Ryan Kesman.

The second half got off to familiar feeling when the visitors scored with their first attack, a similar happening in the past would have signalled the start of a defeat but these Reddish boys were not there for the beating.

The introduction of David Tyrer–Clegg into a busy midfield was the catalyst the blues needed. Aided by the impressive Parkie, the Blues began to take control. The equaliser was a splendid move down the right hand side set up by Luke Oliver and converted by Ant Dorney.

Wave after wave of Reddish attacks saw David Tyrer-Clegg and a brace from captain Alan Birchall seal the most impressive of victories.
A poor refereeing decision stopped Zack Barton adding to the final score.

Each and every one of our players should be proud of themselves. None more than their Manager.

Scorers : Alan Birchall (2) David Tyrer-Clegg (1) Ant Dorney (1)

Man of the match : Anthony Parkinson-Leigh. (Parky)
