Under 16's. Away v Ryecroft Rovers

Result - Reddish North End 1 Ryecroft Rovers 8

It is difficult to pick the bones out of a humiliating defeat. There are a number of mitigating circumstances which conspire to produce such a result.
From a squad of 16 players Just 12 turned up to play; 2 carrying bad knee injuries, 2 further casualties - Parky and Tom Taylor reduced our playing ranks to 8 fit players.

Pitched against a team who are likely to win the league, a miss-match ensued. On a heavy pitch in miserable playing conditions the Reddish boys challenged for every ball but were outclassed by a bigger, stronger and fitter team on the day.
The Coach taking the Lions Share of the criticism, too many players playing out of position, too many heads going down are the remit of the manager.

We must all learn from games like these and bounce back. Showing the character which I know is within this team.

Mike Watling and Ryan Kessibah played through the pain barrier with credit. It was good to have Phil Kinder back who had to play some of the game in net.

Stand in striker Super Scott Marshall worked tirelessly and was rewarded with a well taken goal.

One shining light on a very dull day was John Traynor Who won every header and tackle he contested, had there been any grass on the pitch John would have covered every blade.

Scorers : Scott Marshall (1)

Man of the match : John Traynor
