Result - Reddish North End 1 Clayton Villa 6

Match Report: Rob
A short and to the point report this week!
Clayton won this game in the first half, scoring 5 goals in 25 minutes! We looked like we had gone back a season, where as we take 20 minutes to wake up and get going. You simply cannot do that when playing against good teams like Clayton, we will be slaughtered for it as we were today.
We had very few chances, Clayton
had time for 2 or 3 touches before they were closed down, unlike us, we didn't
have a second on the ball, players taking too long on the ball cost us dearly.
Clayton played and won the game text book style... At every chance it was
Midfield, out wide to wingers, run the line, cross, goal.

Second half we got into the game
much better, to be fair Clayton made changes and probably took the foot off the
gas but we did look better on the ball, our 2 wingers had a better half after
finally being supplied with the ball, enabling one or two crosses to be put in.
Again though at times we were too long on the ball, heavy touches and over hits
etc made our game look untidy. We had one or two half chances here and there in
spells, but again our strikers were not in the mix of it.
We got a penalty this half. Joe
smacked it straight down the middle with power, great penalty to make up for the
miss in last weeks game and gave Joe his confidence back to be our main man in a
dead ball situation.
Apart from the penalty we had no luck in this match, every 50/50 ball bounced
away, even a high ball coming down seemed to bounce away from us. We just didn't
have any rub of the green. We even picked up a couple of injuries again, Nath
got an elbow in the mouth which knocked his tooth loose, he was replaced by
Declan. Aaron took a smack in the "gentleman's area" whilst making one of his
usual brave one on one saves, Joe did the honours and went in goal.
Clayton did score another this half which ended the second period 1 - 1, much more respectable against a top side.
Lady luck was still in bed today, like many of our lads.
As Shuff and Stotty said, good effort in the second half lads but we must be alive right from the off.
