Result - Reddish North End 3 Spurley Hey 0

Match Report: Alan Birchall

Team: Nico, James, Dylan, Keith, Alfie, Matthew, Callum, Ty.

The council cancelled all League games this week, but this was a friendly for both soccer schools. The Pitch on North Reddish park is the Best pitch in Stockport. After so much rain it looked and felt like a day in spring, not a day in the middle of Winter. The pitch was great and in the end so was the result. Although the result was great in the end, these games are not all about results its about how the team gel as a TEAM.

Spurley Hey were missing players and so were we, But both teams did their coaches proud by the way they played this game in a very friendly and competitive way.

There was a much better shape to the team from the start of this game with Nico in goal, James and Dylan in defence, Matt, Keith and Alfie in midfield and Ty up front, with Callum starting as Sub. At times we did lose the shape but after the first period of 15 mins we went into the next 15 mins 1-0 up, the goal came from some very good work down the right with a cross from Alfie and up pops Matthew to put the ball past the Spurley Keeper.

The second period we made lots of substitutions during the whole game with a role on role off basis, Callum came on and did well making lots of hard but fair tackles and taking a few corners one was a great ball into the box but wasn't put away, but I must admit Spurley just shaded this 15 minute period with some good play by a couple of their players especially by the kid on the left of midfield. But we were kept in it by very good defensive play by Dylan, James and Nico in Goal. This period ended 0-0

The 3rd period was much better from RNE we did dominate it with lots of attacking down both wings ,but it was after great play that the ball found its way on the right for Alfie to cross to Ty to score his First goal for RNE. As time went on the ball fell to Keith in midfield, he managed to make the best pass of the day a diagonal ball to Ty who was in loads of space, after a great Control and turn Ty was 1 v 1 with the Spurley Keeper he slotted the ball home like he was a pro. A great finish to the match. A big shout to Nico for keeping a clean sheet.

Scorers: Ty (2) Matt (1)
