Match Report: Alan Birchall
1st game V Stockport Vikings (A)
Team: Liam G, Max, Chris, Regan, Luca, Lewis, Alex.
We had an early kickoff today (09.30) but this didn't stop this team from putting a very good performance, in fact both teams did their managers proud. Vikings scored first with some good passing the ball found its way in to the RNE box for the striker to hit the ball low into the net. We got our deserved equaliser from great passing and moving from all the forward players Lewis, Luca, Regan and Alex.
The
ball was passed out to the right wing for Luca to send in a great cross for
Lewis to slot the ball home. Half time 1-1.
Right from the start of the second half we played good football, it was a joy to
watch, we found ourselves in the lead from a great shot from Regan, we were
playing some great football at this time in the game but Vikings scored their
equaliser to make it 2-2. I had to make a sub with Luca not feeling well, Callum
came on and had an immediate effect, he does control the ball very well, at one
time controlling the ball with his chest and controlling it well. The 3rd RNE
goal came from a cross for Alex to slot it home at the far post. I must admit I
thought we were going to win this match but Vikings got their equaliser to make
the final score 3-3.
Both managers would have liked the win but to be fair the result was just that,
fair in the end.

2nd Game
2nd Game V Stockport Vikings (B)
Team: Liam G, Liam M, Cameron, Regan, Sammy, Alex, Callum.
Again we played some great
football but so did Vikings, they had a girl playing for them and she stood out
as a very good player, she made some great tackles and when she got tackled by
our players she didn't bat an eyelid. But it was RNE who took the lead Callum
scoring with a low shot.
Vikings got 2 goals in this game but they should have been stopped by our
defence, we will work on defending in training, later in the game the defence
did make some good tackles good ones from Liam M and Cameron. Callum got another
goal a brilliant effort from midfield Shooting from distance, the ball sailed
over the Vikings Keeper. Regan scored early in the 2nd half.
I made a sub bringing Liam G out of net for a runout putting Chris in net, Liam G did his team mates proud when he scored a great goal running from midfield to shoot low into the net. A mention must go to Max, he lent Cameron his football boots because Cameron's boots were too small, thanks Max.
Scorers: Callum (2) Regan (1) Liam G (1)
