Match Report: Alan Birchall

1st game

Team.  Liam G, Cameron, Max, Regan, Alex, Lewis, Callum.

To be honest the team played as if they were still in bed in the 1st half, with Didsbury playing good football and us letting them dictate the play, we went into halftime 1-0 up when Callum scored just before halftime. To be fair Cameron and Max kept Didsbury from scoring in this game, they defended brilliantly. In the 2nd half after I had a chat about being 1st to the ball and a bit better passing we played 1000% better.
Regan held the Midfield very well Alex and Lewis did great down the wings and Callum scored 5 goals. Lewis scored just before the end with what was our best move, the ball was passed from midfield to Callum who passed to Alex on the edge of Didsbury's area and he passed across the box for Lewis to score. A much better Half which was a joy to watch. Also a clean sheet by Liam.

Scorers: Callum (6) Lewis (1)

Man of the match: Callum

2nd game

Team. Callum, Liam G, Liam M, Jaden, Thomas, Sammy, Chris.

Again Didsbury played good football, but we seemed to stop them every time they tried to get to our area. You could hear their support shouting Shoot! everytime they got near our box.

Callum kept them out with some good saves.  Liam g played great in defence, but it was Didsbury who got the breakthrough with a well taken goal. We were back in it when Thomas scored his 1st goal for RNE. Halftime 1-1

The 2nd half started much the same as the 1st plenty of attacking from both sides, we went behind due to a bad decision by the ref, Callum tried to kick the ball out of his hands but a Didsbury player was in the way, it hit him and he scored, I asked the ref if it was a foul but he said no, but reffing a game is hard enough so I left it. Remember the RESPECT CAMPAIGN.

I was determined for us to score so I swapped Liam G and Thomas' Position, Liam went up front and we did nearly score. We had lots of throws and a couple of corners, even Callum tried to score, he went up to take the throw in's and into the area for corners but we couldn't make our superiority count. Didsbury went home smiling but so did we, we did deserve something out of this game, it was a very entertaining game.
well done to both teams.
