Friendly V Droylsden Juniors
To say it was raining cats and dogs is an understatement, it was more like Lions and Hyenas. But the lads didn't let the rain dampen their spirit.
It was agreed to be a roll on roll off for the subs, and we had 3 periods of 20 minutes, both teams had 11 players and we played 8 aside.
Liam G got us off to a great start with his long goal kick deflecting off a Droylsden player and going into the net. We played some brilliant football at times with Regan, Lewis, Luca, Alex and Jaden working really well together, also Cameron and Chris defending brilliantly.
Max came on after the first period For Cameron and did what he does best and was strong in the tackles he made. Sammy came on for Alex and was unlucky not to score.
Droylsden came back to score a good goal in the 2nd period but with the forwards performing well we got back in front from a great goal by Alex, he received the ball from Luca who made a great pass to Alex on the wing, he cut inside to unleash an unstoppable strike, the ball went into the bottom left corner of the net.
Liam M came on for Chris and did well in defence. Droylsden came back into this match with some good passing football but couldn't get through our Keeper Liam G, he made some great saves and diving Bravely at the strikers Feet.
Alex came back on for
Jaden in the 3rd period and was unlucky not to score but showed great skill at
times, his reading of the game is a joy to watch. We did dominate
this game at times and were unlucky not to go more goals in front but as time
went on we knew that Droylsden would come back, some of our players started to
get cold, Droylsden did get 3 more goals to make the final score 2 - 4 to them, but
I must give our players most of the credit, we played much
better than the last time we played Droylsden.
Well played, both teams did
their managers proud.
Scorers: Liam G and Alex.
Man of the match: Luca.
