1st game

RNE under9's V drolsden juniors

The lads tried their best today but with a couple of players feeling under the weather we had to plod on ,the pitch on Houldsworth park is a big pitch and i may consider moving back to north reddish park. end of excuses!!!

the team were caught on a bad day today,we didn't get forward enough to support the forward but when we did get forward we didn't get back quickly enough to defend ,also some of the players were giving the ball away too cheaply and that cost us 3 goals,but there were encourageing signs in the 2nd half callum again should have had 3 goals shooting 2 of his chances straight at the keeper and scoring 1 more chance and regan going close with his effort. anyway lets put this performance behind us get back to training and put some passing drills into the training session and hope the lads take what they learn into the game next saturday. i must mention LUCA who gave his absolute best today and deserves his man of the match trophy,although i have subbed him at half time in recent games he has gave his all and comes off at halftime really tired so i take him off to rest him but he will get full games if he gets fitter.well done luca.

before i end this match report i must also mention Droylsden juniors ,jimmy has a really good team on his hands and he must feel proud of his teams efforts,they got to 5 Tournament finals in the summer altough they didn't win any to get to 1 final will be good enough  never mind 5,but let me warn jimmy we will be trying our hardest to get revenge for this result.

2nd game

this was a much better performance we had a chat before we kicked off and the lads heard me tell them to get their tackles in pass when they get the ball and also get back into positions when Droylsden have the ball.with great defending by chris and liam  and plenty of effort from wingers lewis and jaden and sammy trying his best up front we tried to take the game to droylsden ,lewis was at his absolute best terrorising there defence down the left and creating lots of chances for us to score. although Droylden passed the ball better at times we were in this game from the off,with cameron not felling his best i brought on Luca to shore up the midfield again he passed the ball well and  got his tackles in . droylsden scored 2 goals in the 1st half but in the 2nd half i must admit we did look the better side with goals scored by lewis and cameron who came back on after the break. like i say with some passing drills at training we should get better.droylsden scored 1 more than us in this game to win 2-3 .near the end of the game a droylsden player had a shot but liam saved it ( a Great save by the way ) the ball slipped out of his hands and in to the air but liam M made a reaction save with his hands , i was close to it and just laughed when he did it ,PENALTY  ,the penalty taker had to beat liam G first to make it 2-4 to droylsden ,but his shot  hit  the bar and went over,i think liam psyched him out.

anyway good luck to Droylsden but we will meet again!
