1st game

RNE under 9's V Hazel Grove

Team  Liam G, Max, Chris, Regan, Luca, Alex, Sammy.

The team went on the pitch with instructions to be first to the ball and when they get the ball control it first no matter what position they are in ,also to work as a team.

The first half was a srappy affair with the ball being lost when in possession and not much passing ,also some of the players not controlling the ball when it came to them (we will work on this at training). Hazel Grove won the ball in midfield ,it was passed out to the left winger and he took a chance ,his shot went past 3 players and into the net, to be fair to Liam the sun was in his eyes. we went into half-time 0-1 down.

Second Half. After repeating the instructions i gave before the start of the game ,the lads went into the 2nd half in a determined mood, we won all the tackles, passed the ball around excellently, and controlled the ball well in all positions. it was after a lot of team work Regan got the breakthrough a good strike from outside the area hitting the back of the net. He also got an other goal, which was a carbon copy of his 1st. Alex got on the scoresheet with a tap-in at the back post after the ball was passed in by Luca. Again Sammy didn't get his chance to score, but he did make some great tackles and passes, Chris and max had a good game, they were busy in the first half but not so busy in the 2nd half, the same can be said about Liam G in net.

2nd Game

Team   Liam G, Liam M, Max, Cameron, Regan, Alex, Callum.

The team went into the game with same instructions as the 1st game ,They did not disappoint the watching spectators. Callum scored 6 goals, all from great work from all the team from the keeper, defence and midfield. Alex and Luca got a goal apiece and Regan scored 2.

To be fair hazel grove didn't have the players to give this team a competitive game. But they did get a goal ,from a cross which Cameron put into his own net. Luca had a wonderful goal disallowed, a shot from on the right which sailed over the grove keeper, the ball went out for a throw before his shot, he was very disappointed.

We won all the 50-50 tackles, scored some wonderful goals, passed the ball around brilliantly. It was a joy to watch.

The only change I made to the team was resting Max and bringing Luca on at half-time, switching Regan to midfield it worked a treat. The lads continued their hard work, winning everything. I didn't make any more changes to the team because I wanted to see if they can keep this performance up. The lads who didn't get back on will get their fair amount of time on the pitch in the future.

Well done, keep this kind of performance up and you never know we might be challenging the leaders in our division.
