NEW MILLS 1-1 REDDISH
NORTH END
Two good games played
in the right spirit but I am struggling to understand how we didn't win them
both!
The first game started
well enough and we were 2-0 up quite quickly with Sam and Kirk scoring the
goals. New Mills pulled one back to make it 2-1 at Halftime.
Leighton then scored
with a neat flick from a corner and 3-1 up with about 10 minutes left we looked
very comfortable indeed however the lads switched off and some poor defending
let New Mills in and they grabbed the equaliser with the last kick of the game!
The second game was
one-way traffic, we dominated however we went in at halftime 1-0 down. George
Hibbs scored the equaliser and we would have won if it wasn't for some great
goalkeeping from the opposition keeper!
A good run out and some great passing play from the midfielders in both games,
basic errors at the back have cost us today but,
we can work on that in training!!!

Under 8's Yellow
Match report tournament
16th July 2011.
We Played in the tournament : won 1, drew 1 and lost 3. We lost our games
because of silly mistakes which we all have leant from, I was so impressed with
some of the moves we made, and hearing other parents from different teams praise
our lads the way we played football, (at least their trying to play the game
properly on the deck). I cant name all of the lads, but Tom Gough and Dylan
Graham proved to me they want to play and work hard for their team. Well done
lads. Dom

Stockport Vikings 2-7 Reddish North End

Stockport Vikings 2-5 Reddish North End
Four good games in really hot conditions but all of the games produced excellent
results!
All four games were enjoyable to watch with both sides playing football the
right way.
We mixed the teams up today to give the lads a chance to play with players who
wouldn't normally be on their side and it worked really well!
The goals on the day were scored by: Jake 7 (amazing!), Kirk 4, Sam 3, Dylan B
2, Leighton 2, Tiger 1, Jack D 1, James 1 and an own goal.
Well done boys. John Bourke - Manager

22nd May 2011
I would like to take this opportunity to
thank everyone at Reddish North End FC for the generous gift I was presented
with
at the presentation evening on Friday 20th May.
In particular John Hargreaves our Chairman
and Alan Birchall, who work tirelessly for this football club.
I have been involved with the club for a number of years since creating the
website and my involvement in the design and creation of the
Club logos, badges etc and its been a pleasure. Although I am not as "hands on"
involved as I would like to be as my own Son now plays for another club, however
I do monitor all the teams progress throughout the season from the match reports
I enter on the website.
On this note, I would like to ask ALL the managers to please make an effort to
send in match reports for the new season.
Finally, once again thanks to everyone who
work so hard for this football club, the club has gone from strength to strength
in a very short space
of time, and may it continue to develop and grow, it's an honour to be a part of
it.
Enjoy the website.... Many thanks, Rob

Under 9's. Lisbon St Anthony's 5-5 Reddish North End
As we were missing a few players today and a couple of new lads we played a
special 30 minute each way game with a mixture of players from both the 'Blues'
and the 'Yellows'.
It was a great game, 2 up early on through an own goal and Michael but Lisbon
hit back with two quick goals of their own to make it 2-2 at Half-time. In the
second half we started to play and we were 5-3 up with about 15 minutes left
with further goals from Kirk, Dylan and another own goal.
However we tired for the last part of the game and Lisbon are a very good team
and they took advantage, scoring a neat free-kick and grabbing the equaliser
with only a couple of minutes left. In fairness we were second best for a lot
of this game and if it wasn't for our keeper, Dylan C, then we could easily have
lost this game by quite a margin.
It was a good run out and there were a lot of positives, especially seeing how
the lads played against a Lisbon side who were both skillfull and physical -
something we need to work on, I'm not saying go out and foul people but we need
to be a lot stronger in the tackle and match the oppositions work rate.
Well played lads against the best team we have faced so far.

14/5/11
Reddish North End 'Yellows' 2-4 Reddish Phoenix
Reddish North End 'Blues' 8-0 Reddish Phoenix
Two different results but two very good performances.
The first game started well enough, Michael scored from close range early on to
give us the lead however we fell asleep after that and went in at half-time 4-1
down.
The second half performance was probably the best I have seen the 'Yellows'
play, we battled well and Sam scored to make it 2-4.
If the game had been 5 minutes longer I honestly believe we would have got the
other two goals needed as we were putting the pressure on Phoenix.
We did well today but like the New Mills game last week, the first half
performance has cost us! We need to play well for the full game and not just the
second half when it is too late but i'm sure we will sort this out!
The second game was very one-sided. 8-0 with goals from Jake (4), Kirk, Dylan,
James and an OG. Being 5-0 up at half-time we changed things about and tried
players in different positions and Jack (who is a year younger than everyone
else) was unlucky to have a goal disallowed and a penalty saved!
There will be tougher games ahead and this was a freak result so we can't get
carried away.

7/5/11
Reddish North End (Blues) 2-0 New Mills
Reddish North End (Yellows) 0-5 New Mills
A mixed day today, we didn't start very well in the first game and had to soak
up a lot of New Mills pressure and we were very fortunate to get to half-time at
0-0 but a great penalty save from Dylan C (and a lot more saves) kept the game
goalless.
In the second half we played much better and got two good goals, Dylan B made
the most of a short back pass and tucked the ball into the corner and then Kirk
scored with a powerful strike from outside the box that gave the keeper no
chance.
The 'Blues' are still unbeaten and the main reason is the teamwork, everyone
knows their job and position and we keep it simple, if the pressure is on there
is nothing wrong with getting rid of the ball upfield which Lewis and Tiger did
today.
The second match started terribly, we were all over the place and we were 0-5
down before half time, if the midfield don't track back and help the defence
then we are going to concede goals and this is what happened today!
The second half was much better, we created a few good chances and didn't
concede either so the scoreline stayed the same.
The 'Yellows' played well in the second half and worked a lot harder but we need
to work as a team and listen more. Also not everyone can play upfront and if you
play at the back its not a punishment, strong defenders are the backbone of the
team
and the star man was George - IN DEFENCE!!!!!!
All in all, a good day against another strong team who we could face in the
Stockport Metro League next season.

UNDER 8's Yellows match report
On our second game today we beat south Manchester; Charlie was like Hernandez for man utd with some fantastic finishing, Aaron played great in net then came out to score a wonder goal. Max, Marcus, Dillian, Josh, Sam, Jack, Tom and Nicco all gave 100%, the boys played some good football and most of all enjoyed the game and smiled.

Under 14's
Result 3-2 to Denton West End.(2 Callum Barlow)
In Windy conditions West End took an early lead and held it for the 1st half in which chances were few and far between.
Shortly into the 2nd half a good layoff from James let Callum bring the scores level, but once again the visitors took the lead past our make-shift goal keep Max, helpless as the goal went into the bottom right hand corner.
The team responded well and drew level once again with good work from Daniel L and James feeding Callum to score his second.
Unfortunately we let Denton West End score again which proved to be there winner.
Thank you to all the new lads for coming down and all did very well

Under 9's
Droyldsen 'B' 0 - 1 Reddish North
End (Yellows)
Droylsden 'A' 0 - 1 Reddish North End (Blues)
Two tough games but two great results!
The 'Yellows' played the best they have played so far, Lewis scored the goal in
the second half after a neat one-two with Sam and whilst we rode our luck a
little at the end with a combination of great goalkeeping and solid defending we
just about deserved the win.
I was really pleased with the lads in the first game today, they have come a
long way in such a short space of time and they learnt a different side of the
game today, sometimes you have to dig deep and defend what you have and leave
the fancy flicks for another time! Well done!
We dominated the second match and how it was only 1-0 i'll never know! Dylan
scored the goal, following up after the keeper had saved but again,
I was pleased with the way we played and how organised (especially the midfield)
were.
Things are coming together nicely and I know we will do very well when the
league starts in September. There are areas we can improve, mainly heading the
ball!!!! but we will get there!!!!
Both teams played excellent football and this was by far the best we have played
so far,
it's important that we don't sit back and that we keep on going and trying to
get better and better.
Brendon Bees 1-1 Reddish North End (Blues)
Brendon Bees 3-0 Reddish North End (Yellows)
Brendon Bees 1-1 Reddish North End (Blues)
A tough few games tonight, Brendon Bees were a very physical side and our lads
struggled to cope with them in the first game.
We went 1-0 up with our first shot of the game (Kirk) but the opposition quickly
equalised,
we had to defend well against a big, strong team but we got a good draw in the
end!
The second game didn't go to well, the lads put the effort in but were
overpowered by Brendon Bees who weren't afraid of a good challenge! We lost the
game by 3 but if it wasn't for some brilliant goalkeeping by Dylan then it could
have been a lot more. we had too many players playing with their heads down and
not looking up for their team-mates, something we have been working on in
training!!!!
The third game was the best game of the night, Kirk scored again and we were
very unlucky not to win with their goalkeeper making some super saves and a
couple of clearances off the line. We passed the ball a lot better in this game,
matched them in the tackle, kept our shape and created plenty of chances.
The positives? Kirk took his goals well, Dylan played really well in goal and
when we pass the ball about we are a very good team. Also, the 'blues' are still
unbeaten (Won 3 Drawn 2). I hope that the players got a lot out of these games
and it was good to see how they would react against a physical team, and it is
important that next time we play a team with a similar style we try and match
them and get stuck in (fairly) without feeling intimidated but we are a new team
and this will come in time as
we get used to playing competitive football.

UNDER 13'S GIRLS

This was the first official under 13's girls game. All the girls couldn't wait to wear their brand new kit and play at their home ground for the first time. A few spanner's were thrown into the works when the girls seen the size of the opposition. This changed the mood within the team.
As soon as the whistle went to begin the game all players were flying around and playing like a team that have been playing together for seasons. In the first half both teams had there chances and plenty possession of the ball with Acton-Boxboro coming close on a few occasions with some great saves and great tackles preventing them from taking the lead.
At the interval it was still 0-0. The mood within the team at half time was fantastic with everybody on a high with a lot of positives to take from the first half. The second half was just as entertaining with both teams getting the ball on the floor and pressing for an opener. The weather started to take its toll with all players tiring so both teams made plenty of changes throughout the game. Reddish were constantly pressing the ball and within 5 minutes Acton-Boxboro took the lead through a great defence splitting pass that was put across the face of the goal and slotted into the net which made it 1-0. the second goal was a great individual strike from outside the box that was tipped onto the bar and the follow up was easily passed into the net to make sure it crossed the line 2-0.
Reddish showed true character and never gave up throughout the game and pulled back a well deserved goal from a long throw into the box for it to go through the goal keepers hands. Reddish had there chances to have more goals within the game but for some good saves and defending to keep the score at 2-1
Both teams tried to get to ball down on the floor through out the game with some great play from both teams and plenty chances. All involved made a great contribution and there is a bright future for all the girls from both teams if they carry on excelling the way they currently are. We all can agree it was a fantastic day for everyone with positives both on and off the field. cheers Liam.
