28/04/2012 Away v Hale

RNE V Hale away

Well we played our last game of the season on Saturday against Hale who got through to the league cup final. We got off to a bad start going 2 goals down, one a freekick and another a good team goal from the Hale Team. They play good fair football. jaden had no chance with either goals. But after plenty of encouragement we got back into the game late on in the first half with a good goal from Alex B.

The scoreline at halftime was 2-1 to hale.

After a Team talk at halftime the lads went into the 2nd half we lots of determination, soon we found ourselves 3-2 up goals from Rooney and Lewis G which were welcome from our supporters , we played some great football at this point great defending as well but Hale weren't finished they scored 2 more to lead 4-3 and thats how the game finished.

We just ran out of steam, so a lesson for the summer is to get every player Fit for the Next season. and make sure we start to tighten up or defence.

Well Played today and for the Rest of the season, With Hale winning this match they secured their 2nd spot in the league and will Receive a Trophy at the league presentation. But Let me say that this Team has come a long way in the last 3 years and if the players keep developing we could improve next season. we just need a bit of luck along the way.

18/04/2012 Home v Woodley Albion

last time we played woodley we got off to a bad start , going 2 goals down but we managed to turn the game round and win

4-3, This time we started very well scoring early, Luca managed to get a cross in and Alex B scored with his head. We played very well yesterday, lots of passing and moving and created lots of chances, Regan scored a good goal when he ran into the woodley area and got a touch to a loose ball. Rooney also scored a great goal with a long shot sailing into the left side of the keeper, our keeper Jaden didn't have much to do but when called into action he did his job well. lots of changes were made during this game with Ronny, Thomas and Liam coming on after a short period. When they came on they did their job very well. Trey got onto a great ball and sent the ball screaming into the net,well done Trey. lewis G got our 5th and final goal getting onto the ball when it was loose after some scrappy play in The Woodley area. What pleased Alex W and i most was the way we played as a Team and all the lads deserve credit for that. well Done Lads another great Team performance.

11/04/2012 Home v Hale

We had Max and Cameron missing today, So i had to swap players about a bit. Rooney went in defence with Liam, Danny and Sammy. Thomas started just in front of the defence and Lewis, Alax B , Luca and Regan went in midfiled, Ronny went up front on his own, Trey was our only sub. We started well enough playing like we usually do Passing and moving football. The ball was knocked into the Hale area and Ronny got hold of it only to be brought down, Penalty. Luca stepped up , his shot was a poor one to be honest it went straight to the keeper who saved with ease, I told Luca to not dwell on it and concentrate on the game. Hale managed to win a freekick just outside the area and the ball was knocked into the area and a Hale player managed to get his head to it and knock it into the net, 1-0 hale at Halftime.

After a team talk the lads went out with determination to get back into this match. liam went up front and Ronny went into Defence, Trey came on for Danny at Right back. We soon got back into this match with a well taken goal from Liam, soon we were 2-1 ahead with a well taken goal from Regan, we were running this match by this time , chance after chance was being created but we couldn't finish Hale off. Hale have got some good players and they did play their part in this match. Hale got the break they were looking for and managed to get the equaliser then the Referee managed to be sucked in when the ball was knocked into our area only for Rooney to be Judged ( wrongly in my opinion) to have fouled the hale player and awarded them a pen, They just about scored Jaden managed to get his hand to it and knocked it against the bar only for it to fall over the line 3-2 to Hale. We all know this team do not give in easilly , I asked Thomas and Ronny to go and join liam upfront, After again having shots on target and off target we got what our way of playing football deserved and got our equaliser , Lewis G managed to find the bottom corner of the net, some hale players were shouting for offside against Liam but he didn't touch the ball, so the referee gave the Goal, Final Score was 3-3 but i think we didnt really get our just desserts, we played some exellent football and deserved to win this match, but credit to Hale they played well and Managed to keep the score down.

Great game to watch and if we create this many chances in the return game then i think we will get the right result.

07/04/2012 Away v Droylsden

We arrived with just the bare 11. With great determination the lads started this match playing this match the way we dicscussed before, passing and moving and defending the right way. Droylsden played very well in the first half but we got the break we were looking for. After great passing the ball was shot into the Droylsden area only for Alex B to get on the end of the pass and knock the ball under the keeper and into the net, 1-0 to RNE at halftime.

The second half saw RNE play some of the best football i have seen from any team i have started during my time as development offficer. Rooney scored 2, Ronny scored 2 and Liam and Lewis G scored 1 apiece to make it 7-2 to RNE . but great credit to every single player that took part in this game. The Droylsden Coach commented that his Team Used to play like we performed and i take that as a compliment. The players that were chosen as man of the match were Jaden and Cameron, They played exellent today and deserved their awards. well done everyone , a great performance.

31/03/2012 Home v Didsbury

The pitch was a bit hard today due to lack of rain, all the lads came to play a team that we have played against in the past.

we have had close games with Didsbury in the past. We decided to Start with Thomas and Rooney up front and that decision soon came off. Thomas managed to get on the end off a cross from Luca to slot the ball home. We soon had Didsbury on the back foot again with some great play from our wingers Trey and Alex B. They ran their socks off. Luca and Regan in midfield covered every blade of grass, Luca gave his best performance of the season so far, he had a hand in every goal that was scored today and deserved his man of the match award. Our defenders Played out of their skin today closing Didsbury down when called upon, Sammy, Max, Cameron and Liam played really well today. We managed to score another just before Halftime with a great goal from Alex B , Luca managed to slot a diagonal ball through the Didsbury defence for Alex to get on the end of then slotted the ball into the back of the net. Didsbury managed to score to make it 2-1 at halftime.

After a little chat all the lads went onto the pitch with determination not to lose this game and give us another 2 points.

we were 3-1 up when Rooney managed to shoot from a great cross from Luca , the Didsbury keeper had no chance. Then we managed to start falling apart, Didsbury scored 2 quick goals to make it 3-3 , to be honest we were a bit sloppy during this mad period. We needed a HERO to come to our rescue , Up stepped Liam , He went upfront to support Ronny and Rooney and after some great football with shots going wide from Ronny, Lewis G and Rooney Liam Scored the Winner , he managed to loop the ball over the Didsbury keeper to the delight of the RNE supporters. We will work on our defending at training.

Well done Lads you all played well today and maybe ran out of steam when Didsbury came back but managed to dig deep and acheive the result us deserved.

24/03/2012 Home v Inter Macc

we didn't really get going until after 15 mins when Ronny slotted home a great goal from some good football only for the goal to be ruled offside. Soon after Ronny had another chance and slotted home from close range. Inter macc play good football at times but we were the better side, During the 2nd half we managed to control the game a bit better and got our just deserts when Rooney was brought down in the area, Luca scored the penalty. Our defenders were much better today Max and Cameron played really well in the centre of defence and after a dodgy start Sammy and Daniel played a lot better during the 2nd half. We got our Third goal after some great play between our Midfielders Luca and Regan who managed to get the ball out wide to Alex B, who Managed to get the cross into the box for Thomas to Score a great TEAM goal. Well done to Jaden and Max for being chosen as Man Of The Match. Jaden Made a great Save Late in the game , Diving to his left to stop a certain 2nd Goal for Inter. Mention must go to all the players for keeping going as the Weather was very hot today and they definately put a shift in. Well done lads. great performance, but lets keep going to try and secure 2nd spot.

17/03/2012 Away v Bramhall

we were short of a couple of players today. But all the lads that came did themselves proud. Bramhall Scored 1st with a well taken freekick that bounced in our area and straight into the net, which was a bit dissappointing from a defencive point of view. We rallied and managed to get the equaliser from a well taken goal from Rooney. Our passing, controling of the ball was a bit rough during the 1st half, we only had 1 sub today and when max got injured Ronny came on in cenral defence and did a great job. Halftime 1-1.

During the break Alex W and i encouraged the lads to make sure we control the ball better and when passing it, make sure it gets to our man. We came out for the 2nd half with determination to do better. All the lads improved during the 2nd half Rooney scored another goal but should have had 3 but i can't complain about his work-rate as he was up front on his own for most of the game. he ran his socks off. Alex B scored a great goal after some great play between Our Midfielders Liam and Regan. This was a good test for our team because even though we didn't play Particularly well in the first half, we did improve in the 2nd. Well done lads lets make sure we get off to a good start next week when we play Inter Macc at Home.

10/03/2012 Away v Bollington

we warmed up and started the match with a load of confidence after a good win the game before. During the first half we played some of the best football i have seen us play, The ball was being passed to feet at speed and accuracy, every player got a touch of the ball. Jaden in net didn't touch the ball much in the first half which was a credit to all the defenders , our midfielders were running this match in midfield. Bollington didnt have an answer for our great football. Rooney scored 2 goals in the first half but deserved to get more. Halftime and we were cruising. I just said to the lads to defend properly and we will win this match.

The second half started and Bollington Scored 2 goals within Minutes of the start, we just looked as if we were back in bed and having a dream. Alex and i couldn't believe what we were seeing, Bollington were now the dominant side. We had to bring Rooney and Alex back on to try and answer the questions that Bollington were asking ( If you know what i mean ) To be honest we just ran out of steam, The defenders were looking lethargic during the 2nd half. We did have chances from Rooney and Lewis G but we couldn't put them away. Bollington scored 2 more goals and play the right way and went on to win 4-2.

The Bollington Manager spoke to me after the match and said we have a great Team. We Believe This to be true because during the first half we played Brilliantly. Lets learn from this 2nd half performance. I could make excusess about the pitch but i won't.

03/03/2012 Away v Woodley.

RNE v Woodley away

Woodley are bottom of the league and to be honest on this match they don't deserve to be there, We got off to a sloppy start to this match when we found ourselves 2-0 down after 15 mins, 2 soft goals were scored by woodley. But after a couple of changes up front we got back into the game. Regan playing like he does every time he goes on the pitch, giving 100% scored a great goal , a shot from outside the area which sailed into the top of the net.

We went into Half-time 2-1 behind .

During the break we had a chat about keep playing the way we do, the ball on the floor and passing to feet, it wasn't long before we got our deserved equaliser, liam was playing on the left wing today and after running with the ball into the area he was brought down, PEN, Luca stepped up just as last week he slotted the ball home into the top right of the net.

After some more changes Ronny scored a good goal to put RNE ahead for the 1st time in the game. We were dominating the match and kept playing brilliant football. One of the lads on the subs bench commented that Jaden hadn't touched the ball for the whole of the 2nd half, but he soon made a good save from a corner when the ball was passed into the area. After some good passing and moving from our midfielders the ball found it's way to Rooney who had a defender closely marking him managed to get a shot on target which sailed into the bottom of the net. Woodley managed to get another good goal to make it 4-3 but we didn't start panicking we again created some more chances from Alex B and Rooney had another chance but they went just wide of the target. Well done to all the lads and like i keep saying we Lose as a team and we win as a team . We got what we deserved today and our first win in 4 games. Credit must go to all our defenders who played very well today.

Well done to all those that scored but credit to those who create those opportunities for you.

25/02/2012 Away v Stockport Junior Blues.

RNE v Stockport Junior Blues away

We decided to start with a different formation today 1 3 2 1 2 2 , our team were playing very well but the ref gave SJB a soft Penalty against Liam G who actually touched the ball first and the SJB player fell on top of liam, The penalty was put away. Then we went 2 down to some good play from SJB. We actually were playing some good football up to that point but didn't really create many chances. Halftime SJB 2-0 RNE.

We all had a chat and decided to go back to a 4 4 2 formation just to try and improve the forward play. What a great decision it was, Our Lads did themselves, the Badge and their parents proud, We were playing out of our skin when we got some luck, Liam was running with the ball and was about to shoot when he got took out, the referee gave us a penalty, Luca stepped up and scored, a great finish. Soon after we got another penalty,Rooney was brought down in the Area again just as he was about to shoot. again Luca stepped up and shot into the right top corner of the net. That made it 2-2 but we couldn't keep SJB out After some good play they scored another good goal. They are Physical Team but play the right way and it looks like they may go on and do the League and Cup Double. RNE show us time and time again that they don't give in easily and we got the equaliser that we deserved after some good play from our midfielders Luca and Regan the ball was put into the SJB area and was collected by Liam He Managed to loop the ball over the Keeper to make it 3-3 to the delight of all our supporters.

It was after a bit of the physical stuff that Lewis was hurt and we had to make a change that SJB scored their winner and by the sound of their supporters they were relieved to see that one go in. Again our team did their best to get what they deserved and nearly scored, After some great football from our Lads the ball was passed to Alex B who ran froward only to be brought down, the referee gave us a Freekick, again Luca took it, i asked him to shoot straight at the keeper which he did, the keeper couldn't keep hold of the ball which was bouncing all over the area and found it fall to Rooney, he only had a fraction of a second to have a shot and with The area being packed his shot sailed over the bar, the Game finished 4-3 to SJB.

A mention must go the all the team for not only the fact that they keep playing great football but for the way they kept coming back at SJB and gave them a great game, They have been running away with this league since day 1 and for us to play like that was great to see. Well Done every single one of you.

18/02/2012 Home v Marple.

After a lot of rain on friday it took a lot of hard work to clear some standing water off the pitch, the rain stopped falling just after the kickoff. We got off to a great start with a goal from Liam Griffiths,a well taken goal which liam managed to shoot under the Marple Keeper. We played Great football which was a joy to watch, Regan was named Managers choice for Man Of The Match and Sammy was chosen as the players choice, 2 outstanding performances but i must admit any of the 14 players we have in this team could have been chosen. 2 Mistakes in the first half saw Marple go into halftime 2-1 up. but the lads came back onto the field with great determination to get something from this game. Marple went further ahead with a good goal from their Striker which was a bit disappointing from our point of veiw but there was plenty of time left on the clock for a comeback and we nearly did it, Lewis Griffiths got a great individual goal to make it 3-2 , we started to dominate the match with chances falling to Ronny and Rooney but alas we couldn't get the equaliser this TEAM deserved. The match finished 3-2 to Marple but i told their Coaches that we will give them a good game the next time we meet them. Another Outstanding Performance from a Great Bunch of Lads.

21/12/2011 Home v Marple.

RNE v Marple 'Metro Cup'

This was our first game in 7 weeks due to the bad weather.

Last time we played against Marple they won 6-1,so we needed to show them what a good team we are, they were confident going into this game. Our lads wanted to play well for Sam Shirazi. We actually played very well in this match with lots of good passing football being played from our lads, Marple to be fair are a good team. We created very few clearcut chances but were very unlucky not to score , Niall had a great shot saved by Marples excellent Keeper, Alex B went Close with his shot just going wide and Rooney Saw his effort late in the match go to the keeper, Alex W and i are very proud of our lads after this performance and if we keep playing like this the results will get better, Remember We are a 1st Division Team and deserve to be there. There must be a mention for Rooney, Sammy and Jaden, Rooney played in defence today and Helped keep Marple out with very few shots on target and when they were on target Jaden saved most of them , Marple Scored 2 goals but jaden didn't have a chance because the 1st was a good shot and the 2nd was conceeded when he got hurt coming out to get the ball and clashed with a marple player. Sammy peake was a deserved M.O.T.M. he kept one of the Marple strikers out of the whole match by marking him very closely. In the end the match could have gone either way. we can now concentrate on moving up the league , we have 12 games to play so lots of football until the end of the season. Well played to all the players for giving a much better performance.

03/12/2011 Away v Inter Macc.

Away V Inter Macc

We only had 12 players this week Thomas and Sam were away, so Ronny started on the Bench, all the other lads who started the match played some very good football during the 1st 15 mins, we actually got a great goal when the ball was played through the Inter midfield to find it at Lewis G's feet, he ran into the inter box and shot into the top right hand corner.

After some great play down the right wing the ball was knocked out for an RNE throw but Luca let himself down when he retaliated to a kick at his ankles during a tussle with an Inter Player, he Kicked out and was shown a Red card from the referee, no complaints from Me or Alex, Lesson for all the players Do Not Retaliate. Inter played very well against us in the 1st half and got their Just desserts , a goal from some good play. HalfTime 1-1

Me and Alex explained to the 10 men we had on the field that if they want to show us how much they want to get something out of the game that they will have to step up a level and try a little harder. What a 2nd half we were treated to. Heroism is the only word to describe the lads performance in the 2nd half. Our smallest Players Liam and Lewis G played as if they were giants, they gave everything , liam played out of goal to give Jaden his chance to prove himself in goal. Inter scored a good goal against the run of play but that wasnt the end of us by any stretch! we switched a couple of players around with 10 mins to go, Liam went up front, Ronny went to Left back and Rooney went into center of defence. They all played well in their new positions. An inter player ran with the ball into our area but was brought down by a hard tackle from Niall, The Referee gave a pen, The pen was taken but was hit straight to Jaden who saved well.But let me explain that not only did those players mentioned play well but every single player played out of their skin during the 2nd half from all the defenders, midfielders and our super striker Liam.

Liam caused Inter so much trouble with his closing down and passing that it lead to our equaliser, liam passed to Lewis G who shot over the Inter Keeper and into the Goal.

Like we said at the end of the Match all the players deserved to be named Man Of The Match, but we gave it to Liam and Lewis G. They played well. All of the players should be proud of yourselves.

Thank You to all those who gave some Players and parents a lift to this match, we don't know what we would do without you.

26/11/2011 Away v Marple.

We went into this match with all the confidence in the world, we were 2nd in the 1 division and deserved to be there. We started very well against a team we have never played against so we did know what to expect, we soon got to know what Marple were all about , they created lots of chances espescially down the left wing. Rooney found himself with a difficult chance to have a shot at goal, with 2 players trying to get the ball off him, but with his strength he brushed the defenders off and scored a great goal. After this Marple started to dominate the next 20 mins of the 1st half but not without a fight from our players, Regan and Niall were magnificent in Midfield. Regan was his usual self Running all over the pitch, and Niall kept it tight just in front of the defence. Marple play football the right way and scored 3 goals. We did have chances from Ronny and Alex B but we couldn't finish, Rooney was off the pitch with a slight injury. 3-1 Halftime.

2nd Half.
Again we played really well but just couldn't finish off our chances, again Alex B and Rooney had chances to at least even up the scoreline , with time ticking away the decision way taken to just have 3 at the back and 5 in midfield, we were chasing the game, the last 15 mins of this game was very good to watch as a spectator but not as a coach, we created loads of chances but with players up the pitch looking to score it left gaps at the back, marple scored 3 more goals and had 1 cleared of the line. Max and Sam were M.O.T.M.

Our players will learn to have composure when in with a chance to score, the scoreline does flatter Marple by a long way.

This was a great game not only by Marple but by our players as well.

19/11/2011 v Spurley Hey.

Well what a game Alan always seems to pick his holidays when we have great end to end games, this weeks Cup Game against Spurley Hey was a tough game for our lads but they did Alan and I really proud, we started the first half dominating the possession with some really good attempts at goal that between the good keeping for Spurley and the invisible brick wall in the net our lads just couldn't seem to hit the back of the net, the second half saw us relinquish possession over to Spurley a bit but the lads kept on and focused really well however full time saw a nil nil score line, with this being a cup game we went into extra time with the same focus from the last half again despite all the lads best efforts we couldn't get a goal, then our break came in the form of a penalty taken by Regan only to be saved by the Spurley keeper undeterred by this the lads kept on playing the football which eventually paid off and saw Alex find the back of the net with a cracking shot, in response Spurley raised their game and managed to pull one back leaving us at the end of extra time at 1-1 (How frustrating !!) This meant that the game now came down to penalties, having been here before at previous tournaments I had a chat with the lads reminding them to keep focused and to remember that we have had some great results from penalty shoot outs before, they all kept this in mind and took some great shots and made some good saves but Spurley just didn't want to give it up after 5 penalties each it was still even so after a conflab with the ref and the Spurley coach we agreed on a sudden death which saw Lewis griffith step up to the plate a bury the winning goal. . . .. What a game, Alan i wish you had been there to see it, all the lads were elated at the end and rightly so they put their all into it and got the result they went for, as it was such an intense match i made the decision to make the whole team man of the match as they all contributed so well, kept their team spirit and all gave 110%. . . Well done to you all this is why we are in the 1st Division and a big thanks to all the parents etc who came to support and helped out your all part of the team to.

05/11/2011 Home v Bollington Utd.

Home RNE V Bollington Utd.

The 1st half was a bit scrappy from our point of veiw not much to report apart from a little spell when we passed the ball well to give Rooney a great chance to open up the scoring. The 2nd half was a lot better although we didn't score and Liam saving us a few times being 1st to the ball when it looked like Bollington were going to score. One chance saw Bollington striker certain to score with the ball bobbling up onto his head and his chance was an open net, only for our brilliant Goalkeeper to make a magnificent save. Luca and Niall were in midfield and had to work very hard today, Bollington play the game the proper way, passing and moving and creating chances. But we had Sammy, Sam , Cameron and Regan at the Back, Thomas came on in the 2nd half and all of them defended very well, This was our 2nd clean sheet of the season. There were only a few chances in the 2nd half which Rooney would normally put away, but with time clicking away he had the last chance of the game to win it for RNE, but alas he tried too hard , trying to burst the net, the ball sailed over the bar. Never mind Lads this was a great game to watch and nobody who watched this match went home disappointed. Roll on our Next Match.

22/10/2011 Home v Apollo Juniors.

We had training on Friday Night and the lads were on fire, come Saturday Morning The Lads seemed to be still in bed. Apollo Scored 1st with a good goal, they seemed to want this game more than us in the 1st 15 mins, Alex Bright scored our 1st Goal to make it 1-1 , it was a well taken goal , Chipping the Apollo keeper. But again Apollo scored another from a lapse of concentration in defence, After a bit of Loud encouragement form me, the lads finally started to wake up, lewis G scored a good goal after a cross into the box at the far post. Then we got in front with a good finish from Rooney , He was unlucky in this game because he is a very strong lad who uses his body to win the ball only to pulled up by the referee for a foul, keep doing what you do Lewis not every referee will veiw it that way. Half Time 3-2 to RNE.

After a few changes we started the second Half with the sun in our faces, Apollo play football the right way as do we, but today this game was a bit scrappy from our point of veiw, the ball was just being pumped up the field and not much passing from the lads that you expect to be able to. After some good work in midfield the ball fell to Niall, his pass to Rooney was very good because Rooney's control and shot were excellent,the ball sailed into the net. That made it 4-2 to RNE . That should have been the platform to go on and really finish Apollo off but again we paid the price for another lapse in concentraion,They scored to make it 4-3 , we were hanging on in the end. Apollo must of had 4 corners in a row but i will give credit where its due, our defenders did well to keep the score 4-3 in the end.
We have now won 4 out of 5 games. Lets keep going lads lots of games still to play .

08/10/2011 Home v Bramhall North.

The lads stepped onto the pitch with the instruction to just play football the way Alex W and I have trained them, they were told that Alex and I will not be shouting instructions to them and its their responsabillity to communicate with each other, its everyones job , not just captain camerons Job. What a treat were in for, the fooball was terriffic , passing, moving, creating chances for our forwards , defending very well and when Liam had to make a save he did his job well. The lads communication during the 1st half was exellent. Ronny scored 1st to set us off to a good win,Then Rooney scored a great goal, Then Jaden Scored after the ball was crossed into the box for it to be like a hot cake , it finally found its way to jaden who just had a tap in. Rooney scored another to make it 4-0 at halftime.

We knew the game wasn't over .Bramhall Had a great Striker with a Sweet left foot he scored 3 goals, one of them was a great shot from outside the box, Liam G had no chance, but 2 mistakes let him score 2 more, to be honest we didn't look like we were going to let this game slip, we dominated the 1 st half but after a couple of our players started to get a bit tired thats when Bramhall got into the Match. Our communication wasn't as good as the 1st half but we can't expect all the players to get the hand of that after one game, we will do the same next game and just remind them at halftime.

Alex Bright was delighted to score a great goal , it came from a through ball from midfield and Alex finished very well. our 6th goal came from Niall who was making his debut, Niall was with us last season but left after a couple of games, but now he's back he has become the final piece in the Jigsaw, he scored after a great run from midfield. a special mention to Sam who played at leftback during the 2nd half , he had a great game and played the ball simple and defended very well. Jaden Heywood was chosen as Man Of The Match. Well done Jaden. Again it could have been anyone of the players they all played well.

01/10/2011 Away v Spurley Hey.

After arriving late today , i was pleased to hear we were 1-0 ahead, Lewis G scored a great goal, we played some very good football even in very hot conditions. All over the pitch we played the right way even though some of the opposing players tackles were a bit to be desired. Rooney was blatantly brought down when through on goal, the ref made a bad decision and didnt give the free kick. Ah well some you get and some you dont , we'll have to take it on the chin. After some great play on the right lewis G found himself with the ball he ran and ran and Shot towards goal, the Ball sailed over the keeper and into the net, a great goal again Lewis. That earned Lewis the M.O.T.M. award. We did have moments when we were a bit tired at the back , Spurley made a few attacks but Liam G kept them out only to be 1 v 1 liam did the right thing and came off his line to cut the angle down but he got chipped, he had no chance. Our players started to wane in the hot weather , but plenty still had the energy to carry on playing great fooball at times. Rooney, Ronnie, Lewis G , Alex B and Jaden all had chances but the spurley centre Half made some outstanding Tackles and their Keeper made some great stops. A mention must go to Luca Abela and Regan Mannion , these lads very Rare get a mention but they are the engine room of this team, well played you 2. The game finished with a great win again for the team that played the best football and thats RNE. Well Done again Lads.

25/09/2011 Home v Droylsden juniors.

Well This should be a match report about a close Match, but it is completely different, our team played very well against the team that were our rivals last year. Jimmy,Ian and Lee are very nice blokes and congratulated us on our performance and said things have gone a little ari for his Team. Droylsden actually got to at least 6 Tournament finals during the summer and won all of them.
They are not a bad side and will give us a game next time we meet them i'm sure.

We started the match as if we were still in bed, but after a bit of encouragement for Alex and i ( shouting wake up Reddish ), we were knocking the ball around reasonably well but 1 or 2 players weren't putting the correct pace on the pass , lets be honest this bunch of lads know when they make mistakes and will learn by them. We got our game together and passed the ball better which lead to our goals, Rooney scored the 1st goal with a well taken effort, To be honest i lost track of the order of who scored the next 7 goals, good job we have Terry on the sidelines who keeps a record of the scorers. Alex B scored a Hat-trick, one of which was a looping shot over the Keeper, lewis G got on the score sheet with a well taken goal, Rooney got another after a great through-pass from Luca and Ronnie got his 1st Goals for RNE with 2 great finishes.

There were are few mad moments when we let Droyldsen score 2 goals, 1 was a freekick which Liam was a bit unlucky when he managed to get his hands to it but the ball was a bit slippery and fell into the net. But overall a great TEAM performance.

A big Well done all the players for playing football the way everyone likes to see it played and also for keeping your cool when you came up against a bit of Intimidation.

18/09/2011 v Apollo.

We arrived today with great determination to make up for last week, not the performance but the result which really flattered SJB. The pitch was looking great, a really flat surface which suits our game. We kicked off the game and apart from 10% of the game we dominated the match. Lewis G got us off the mark with a great finish which the Apollo keeper had no chance.

Although he's only small Alex and i had a chat with Sam about defending against bigger players and how he should stop them getting their crosses in, he performed really well and not only defended well he played some good balls to Lewis and our Midfield, WELL DONE SAM. I could mention all the players but he did stand out , along with Sam , Cameron also played really well in central defence and all the way through the game Talked to the players , he did a captains Job WELL.

We went into the 2nd Half 1-0 up , we weren't finished yet, A great goal from ROONEY , a left foot shot into the left had corner of he net, and a Great goal from Regan , the ball came out from the Apollo box and found Regan on the edge of the box, he kept cool and controled the ball and shot into the right side of the keeper, the keeper had no chance. charlie Played in midfield alongside Regan and did a great job. i can safely say that will will do well in this league if we keep performing like this . Well done lads a great performance.

10/09/2011 v Stockport Junior Blues.

We played against a very good team today in stockport junior Blues, Blues got the first goal with a great effort which Liam had no chance. We made it 1-1 with a great goal from Alex B. Junior blues scored 2 more goals one which came from a corner, to be honest our players were a bit slow to react, our Left winger Lewis G had an asthma attack and had to come off midway through the first half which meant we only had 10 men. We got another goal in the second half from a well taken left foot shot from Rooney, although Junior Blues scored 3 more in the second half our lads still tried to play football, it was a fair result in the end but playing with 10 men didn't help the situation. A great effort today all the players ran themselves into the ground for their Team Mates. M.O.T.M. Liam G. Goals from Alex B and Rooney.

28/08/2011 Blackburn Tournament. Match report by: Alan Birchall

This week saw our last pre-season tournament over in Blackburn, the day started out very wet and very windy with I think one or two people hoping for a call off however as they say 'The show must go on'.

We started with our first fixture of the day against Mellor JFC which saw our lads take an early lead and dominating most of the game leading us to a 3-0 victory with goals from Lewis C, Luca & Thomas all great goals and really we should have had more but what a great start to the day putting all the lads in high spirits.

Quite some time later the lads went onto the pitch for their second game against Clitheroe Wolves, which again saw the Reddish lads dominating the majority of the game, battling both an opposing team and the elements meant we were unlucky to be held to a 0-0 draw despite all the teams best efforts,and a couple of heart stopping moments when we crossed the ball across the front of our own goal, but as Alan says a draw is always better than a loss in a tournament

Game 3 saw our first meeting with Wilpshire Black, in this match the Reddish lads as usual did everyone proud playing a much better game against a very physical side, who with a bit of help from the referee (Mmmm) managed to slot in a sneaky goal while Sammy was down after a clash of heads, the referee should have stopped play but allowed them to play on while our lads stood and watched showing it wasn't just the manager and parents who thought the game should have been stopped and a drop ball given. 0-1 to Wilpshire. (this score line does not fairly represent the efforts of our lads in this game, luck just wasn't with us this match)

As a couple of teams did not show for the tournament to the great relief of our loyal supporters our forth game was brought forward against Rishton Utd who were the winners of this tournament last year and Alan had already advised me that they are a good team, my protests that our lads are just as good if not better were greatly justified with a 2-1 win to Reddish knocking Rishton out of the tournament altogether, we saw great goals from Lewis G & Lewis C with little Lewis scoring from a header and a good distance shot by Lewis C (AKA Rooney) all in all a good performance against a decent side.

The never to be forgotten Final v. Wilpshire Black saw the Reddish lads taking knocks left right and centre with the referee appearing to be the only person not to notice (Not that I'm biased) Wilpshire got a lucky deflection late in the game this combined with the physical battle the lads had to put up with held them back from finding their stride and taking back control of the game resulting in a 0-1 win to Wilpshire. Those who were there I am sure would agree that if the physical side had been taken out of this game our lads would have romped home with another tournament win, however the Reddish lads kept their sportsmanship in the face of adversity all wearing a proud smile when collecting their runners up trophies.

I'm sure we can get Alan to arrange another game against these again in the future giving RNE the opportunity to show the play and spirit that we are all proud off.

I would like to take the opportunity to say thank you as always to the parents, grandparents etc who always get the lads to these games and give brilliant support on the day even in the extreme weather conditions THANK YOU ALL.
