Away v Wythenshawe Town
Result - Reddish North End 0 Wythenshawe Town 8
Team coach (James) views on the game:
Oh
dear oh dear. A score-line that does not lie I am afraid, there is nothing to
take from today’s game.
This was a shame as the boys played on the actual Wythenshawe Town FC pitch, so
the grass was nice and short, we even had our own dugout! But it was a large
playing area and it required a lot of tenacity to compete with the league
leaders - unfortunately too many players had their worst game of the season all
at the same time.
Despite conceding a lot of possession we got to half time 1-0 down (and that
from an offside position) although Wythenshawe’s wayward shooting let them down
– and we had one or two bursts towards their penalty area but couldn’t produce
anything decisive. We gave a goal away virtually on the restart and that knocked
the team back, and despite only being 3-0 down with ten minutes left, we really
let it slip and in the end the game couldn’t finish soon enough.
Next week we have to pick ourselves up and start again with a trip to AFC
Oldham, who have had a similar season to ourselves thus far, let’s hope we can
forget this performance and play as I know the boys can.
