A wet night sees the pitch suffer……Winter must be here! Very wet underfoot sees the coaches question whether the game should be played. The sun shines. The match is on. 

A few late arrivals sees a few new faces on the subs bench. A lesson to be learned. Arrive on time! Early pressure from both sides fail to produce the early goal. Haden celebrates….but no! The bar comes to the rescue and the scores stay even. Burnage win a corner. RNE fail to clear. Burnage take the lead (1 – 0). The heavy conditions see few telling passes, though both sides have long shots saved. RNE push for the equalizer before the break with Gricy, Josh and Haden going close. The ball holds up in the mud. Burnage capitalise with ball to the left. A shot saved by Dom, but the rebound falls to the feet of a Burnage striker.  2 – 0 Burnage. A dangerous tackle, unpunished by the ref sees Woody carried off. Bad timing and conditions do not help.  

RNE make the changes and see Brandon, Mike and John come on in the second half. RNE push forward with several from Brandon, Josh and John going wide. RNE make the break through. A goal mouth scramble sees John edge the ball home .  1 – 2 RNE. RNE push for the equaliser. Burnage break. A great clearance from Shaun sees the scores remain. With seconds to go, Haden breaks from midfield. The ball beats the keeper but roles inches outside the post.
