For the 3rd game running Dave and Bob separated by travel commitment. This time its Bob, sunning in Tenerife. Not to be out done, Reddish basking in sun, though a few degrees colder….about 20!
The first game of the New Year sees RNE with an excellent start. 10 seconds on the clock and its 1 - 0. Gricy follows up on a spilt shot on the Bollinton goal to open the scoring. The early goal sees Bollington react. RNE defend solidly with no clear chances being made. Bollington remain on top with RNE only occasionally making a few chances. All football being played down the middle of the park by both teams with little play down the wings.
Haden makes a quick one two with Matthew, then Sheff and breaks from the back. 50 yards of play sees the shot narrowly going wide from RNE. Bollington respond and win a corner. A free header, though not on target.

RNE making start making the play again, with Bollington on the defence. Brandon, Josh and Gricy all half chances. Brandon then makes it 2 - 0. A shot across the keeper sees the low drive go in the corner of the net. Half time, though RNE will need to step up the game to maintain the advantage.
Bollington respond immediately at the start of the second half. RNE defend a number of quick succession corners. Bollinton then win a free kick. A firm shot from 30 yards sees Dom stop well, but unable to hold. The rebound goes to Bollinton feet. 2 - 1.


An even game sees only half efforts from both sides. With Bollington looking the most likely to score the game is tied. A shot is cleared by Sheff, though ruled to have crossed the line. 2 - 2. With 15 minutes remaining, RNE pick the game up. Mike battling hard in the middle and Samuel on the left sees a number of chances slip wide. Late shots from Sheff, Samuel and Haden go close, but wide.
Bollingtom make a break, but Amari stays strong and prevents a late break away goal. A fair result with both sides evenly matched in all areas. A little more fight and passion, as before, will see RNE move forwarded in the New Year.
